Not X. Never X.

Been away and lazy for 17 months. The last post was made shortly before Aotearoa NZ went into the Alert Level 4 lockdown (#stayhome #washhands #bekind #savelives). The world has changed much since. So has everyone’s life. Mine, too. And I intend to keep changing.
When I published the last post I was out of job (Google Translate killed my business!) with not much cash, and spent too much time online or reading. Now I work a physical job fulltime on variable shifts, have enough money to live on, but little time or energy for anything else. No DIY. No gardening. No long walks. No photography. No blogging. No updates about the cat. I want to change that.
I will start by rectifying “No blogging” situation. First publish this post, then see how I go from there.

Bringing Hard Life
You won’t believe how hard it was!
A Learning Curve
So I restarted taking part in the forums. That was how I started out at My Opera. The “Viv” forums look deceptively like My Opera forums, with so many familiar handles dotted everywhere. The differences, however, take a bit of getting used to.
For example, the post voting system. That’s new. I kind of like it. A good way to encourage positive participation. Though, after reading the thread titled “A few words about users reputation”, I felt I gained a little better insight into this new system.
Another thing is the deceptive familiarity of “inserting” in forum posts. If I remember correctly, we used a modified BB code system at My Opera forums. The new system, of choosing what to insert from the options given, is mostly good enough for me, until the ‘I want to put this in block-quote .. How do I insert block-quote?’ moment hits. Such a moment tells me to appreciate there is still a learning curve to take, no matter how I think myself an “old hand”.
Chur!
Please note: this post includes a link to my old legacy blog resurrected as “Hard Life Original” (under the account mimismum0 (how origiinal!))
MM is Back!
After a few years of hiatus, I, as the MM, started making social media return last year, first on Twitter, then the WordPress, where I had exported my My Opera related content.
Now it’s time to make a come back to the Vivaldi community, where many of former My Opera folks reside.
In My Opera community, I had the blog named “Hard Life – About my hardware and hard life of being me”. So my come back blog at Vivaldi is called “Hard Life Alternative”, for now, anyway. See how I go.
Cheers,
MM
